A few 1st grade classes at BP recently experienced the Young Explorers Literacy Experience (YELX) during Reading Across America Week, and it was a great time!
During the visit, students enjoyed interactive storytelling, had the opportunity to ask questions during a Q&A, and learned about the journey of becoming an author. Their excitement and curiosity made the experience especially memorable.
The visit also connected with what students are currently learning in class, including exploring animals and their habitats and understanding the publishing process as they work on creating their own classroom book.
It was wonderful to see students so engaged in literacy, creativity, and imagination. Experiences like these help encourage young learners to see themselves not just as readers, but as future storytellers as well.
